Ever seen the movie We Bought a Zoo starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson? If you haven’t, it’s a great movie. Makes me cry every time. Big ugly man tears. I’m serious. It’s horrible.
Well, we bought a farm.
For several years we lived illegally in a warehouse in Myrtle Beach SC with five kids. That was after we got kicked out of an apartment in Chattanooga TN for having too many kids. Both of those are long stories. Ask me to tell you sometime.
Now we own a huge old farmhouse, several old barns, and plenty of land.
It’s amazing.
One of my favorite things to do these days as a Stream of Income is to make money off of my land. Sure, it’s a farm, but there’s plenty of other ways to monetize the land other than just by growing things. You can click through below and see some of them. If you ever want to visit, let me know, and I’ll save you a spot in the Haunted Barn.
Oh, you’re wondering about the name of the farm…Creator x Maker?

That’s me and my wife Korrene. I’m the Creator, always brainstorming and coming up with ideas, but not too handy or crafty. My wife on the other hand can make anything. I’m talking about food, furniture, clothes…you name it and get her the materials, and she can make it. The x is because it’s not “me + her”. We’re not just two people added together. It’s “me x her”. You put our two strengths together and we’re multiplied.
I’m also taking on this huge “larger than me God-sized” effort to save some adjacent land from a developer and turn it into The Hundred Acre Farm…
We also just joined into a unique partnership with Lowe’s Home Improvement, and they’re funding some of the projects on the farm. Check out our Lowe’s storefront of recommended items we use…
If you ever want to see what we’re up to on the farm, you can click below to find the farm playlist on Youtube or check me out on Instagram.
In addition to all that, most of the crops we raise and sell are sold through our Etsy store, including harvesting kudzu, the plant known as “the weed that ate the South”. Click on the pic below to check out our farm goodies on Etsy.
