Top 10 Space Operas

I’m a sucker for lists. Being hyper-organized makes lists really appeal to me. I’m also a big sci-fi nerd. This list, Space Opera: 10 Best Books to Read popped up in my inbox the other day, and I had to check it out.

After looking through the list I realized I really need to up my Space Opera reading list next year. I’ve only read or seen the movies/television adaptations for four of them.

So, if you’re a sci-fi nerd like me, how did you fare? Do you have any changes you would make to the list, either additions or subtractions?

If you want to up your game like me, in addition to reading and watching, a great way to really absorb a book is to teach it. I’m asked to teach courses based on books a lot to accentuate their educational value for students from elementary on up to the college level. For instance, you could easily teach a course on politics using James S.A. Corey’s Expanse series.

I published a book doing this for Battlefield Earth. You can find it on Amazon. Galaxy Press also has some great teacher resources for it as well. If comic books are more your thing, I also published a book titled Using Comic Books for Education.
