I’ve been on a long journey, like many of you, with the issues of body image and fat.
For what seems like forever, people have told me I’m fat. Morbidly obese even. They did this after weighing me, checking my height, and then consulting the almighty BMI, or Body Mass Index charts.
Stupid mindless doctors.
I got tired of it and started asking other experts. It turns out that there’s a lot of things that people have said was wrong with me that wasn’t. It was just different. I’m talking everything from a heart condition to this notion of my imaginary obesity.
By the way, here’s me in all my glory, ready to punch the next doctor who tells me I’m fat…
Here’s two of the adventures I’ve embarked on to seek advice from other experts…
I checked my body fat percentage in a Bod Pod. You can read about that HERE.
I also bought a set of skin calipers to pinch my fat and check my progress that way instead of consulting the scales. I bought them on Amazon for just $7.99.
Those scales always lie don’t they? (Maybe at least some of the time?)
My main points are these-
Don’t trust the experts without proof.
Become an expert yourself and do things the right way.
Don’t let people tell you that you’re fat.
